KPC Will Soon Welcome Khenpo Tenzin Yeshi
We are excitedly anticipating the arrival of Khenpo Tenzin Yeshi to be the resident Khenpo at KPC. H.E. Mugsang Kuchen Rinpoche selected Khenpo Tenzin after receiving Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo’s request for a full-time teacher here.
Khenpo Tenzin Yeshi came to Namdroling Monastery in 1993 from his village in northern India. He attended Junior High School, through Ngagyur Nyingma Institute’s intensive Buddhist graduate course, graduating in 2006, and was awarded a Khenpo certificate, equivalent to a PhD in Buddhist Philosophy in 2011.
He has received teachings and empowerments from many great Nyingma masters, such as H.H. Drubwang Pema Norbu Rinpoche, H.H. Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche, H.H. Karma Kuchen Rinpoche, H.H. Tulku Thubsang Rinpoche and many others.
Khenpo Tenzin Yeshi has since taught extensively in various Palyul temples in Nepal, India, Europe and Taiwan. In 2015 he was appointed to the 4-member committee representing Namdroling Monastery at the Enthronement of H.H. Penor Norbu Rinpoche Yangsi, held at the main Palyul Monastery in Kham.
Khenpo is very much looking forward to coming to KPC Maryland. One of our Palyul family who has spent time with him, describes Khenpo as having a great sense of humor and very easy manner, in addition to being a quick study in English and other subjects. With H.E. Mugsang Kuchen’s recommendation, and Jetsunma’s blessings, we could not hope for a better future!
If all goes well with his visa, Khenpo should be able to come here as soon as late January. KPC will need to fund his travel in the process of securing the visa and coming to the United States. Khenpo’s presence at KPC will help bring forth Jetsunma’s wish for traditional Dharma instruction, even as she is providing direction for creating the merit to have such blessings. Please consider donating to secure this stable Dharma future for students here and everywhere
