Khenpo Norgay Teaches in Sedona
Venerable Khenpo Tenzin Norgay Rinpoche had a wonderful, joyful visit to Sedona, Arizona over New Years weekend
On Saturday afternoon, Khenpo Norgay Rinpoche gave a teaching on the meaning and purpose of the Riwo Sang Chöd, or Mountain Smoke Offering, at the Sedonya Conscious Living Center. A master of understanding how the Western mind works, Khen Rinpoche engaged attendees with humor and relatable explanations for the purification practice, and answered many questions about the practice specifically and Buddhism in general.
It was a chilly but sunny Sunday morning when more than 100 visitors joined Khen Rinpoche and a small team from KPC Maryland at the Amitabha Stupa for the Riwo Sang Chöd practice and the Rain of Virtue and Goodness – a Short Practice for Consecrating Representations of Enlightened Body, Speech and Mind. Attendees followed along with the practice and enthusiastically participated in burning offerings to remove obstacles and stimulate world peace and harmony, forming a line around the base of the Amitabha Stupa to get to the small chiminea brought to the park just for the practice.
It truly was a beautiful, inspirational weekend.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Her Eminence Jetsunma Ahkön Lhamo, Venerable Khenpo Tenzin Norgay Rinpoche, and a special thank you to the Sedonya Conscious Living Center for providing a beautiful location for the teaching, Verve Events and Tents for the chairs at the Amitabha Stupa, Linda Trammell, Jacquie and Mark Daniels for providing housing for the Maryland team, and the Zarcone family.
